EPOS SDW 10 HS — Diagnostics (Audiobox V2 and standalone connection)

This article covers two configurations: the headset used through the Hub Receiver of an Audiobox V2, and the headset used on its own, with its dongle plugged directly into a workstation (standalone connection). The LED reference table and FAQ at the end apply to both cases.

Before you start

  • The headset is charged (30 minutes minimum on the base if in doubt).
  • The USB dongle of the matching color is properly inserted, with no play.
  • On Audiobox V2: the Corebox V1 must run at least Producer 3.13.1.X and RoomManager 1.1.4.0 (1.4.1.2 for automatic headset configuration). Below these versions, contact support before any further check.
  • Order to respect everywhere (dongles, pairing, charging): Blue – Pink – Yellow – Purple – Green.
Symptom Section to consult
No sound on a headset connected via the Audiobox Part 1
A dongle on the Hub Receiver stays off Part 1
Pairing fails on the Audiobox Part 1, then Part 2 to isolate the cause
Headset tested on its own, without the Audiobox Part 2

Part 1 — Diagnostics on Audiobox V2

Headset not detected or no sound

  1. Check that the Audiobox is powered on (ON/OFF) and that the "audiobox" cable (green) is connected at both ends.
  2. Check that the Hub Receiver is powered and switched on (Power button) and that the dongles show a steady blue light.
  3. Remove and reinsert the affected dongle, in the order blue, pink, yellow, purple, green.
  4. Check the USB A/B cable: USB B → Hub Receiver, USB A → Corebox (USB port 1).
  5. Take the headset off its base; if it stays off, hold ON/OFF for 3 seconds until you hear "Power ON".
  6. If there's still no sound, redo the pairing (see below).

The Audiobox charging base carries no data; it is used for charging only.

Pairing fails

  1. Take the headset off its base and confirm it is switched on.
  2. Press the button on the matching dongle: the light should flash blue and red.
  3. Double-click the headset's ON/OFF button to check it is flashing blue; otherwise, hold ON/OFF for 3 seconds ("Power ON").
  4. Press ON/OFF and Mute at the same time. Wait for "Gap Pairing", then "Pairing Successful".
  5. Place the headset back on its base and repeat for each remaining headset, in the order indicated.

Pair one headset at a time: two dongles left in pairing mode at once can pick up the wrong headset. If pairing keeps failing for a single headset while the other four pair normally, test it in standalone connection (Part 2) to isolate the fault.

Headset overview

Part 2 — Diagnostics in standalone connection

The dongle is plugged directly into the USB port of a workstation (computer, Corebox), bypassing the Hub Receiver. This isolates the headset/dongle pair from the rest of the installation.

  1. Unplug the dongle from the Hub Receiver if applicable, then plug it into a free USB port on the workstation to be tested.
  2. Check that the dongle's light turns steady blue after a few seconds.
  3. Take the headset off its base; if it doesn't turn on, hold ON/OFF for 3 seconds ("Power ON").
  4. If the light never turns steady blue, redo the pairing: press the dongle button (flashing blue/red), then ON/OFF + Mute together on the headset, until "Gap Pairing" then "Pairing Successful".
  5. Test sound and microphone directly on the workstation, independently of any Medinbox software.
  • Test successful: the fault lies with the Hub Receiver, the USB A/B cable, or the Corebox software version → go back to Part 1.
  • Test still negative: likely a hardware fault in the headset or dongle → contact Medinbox support.

FAQ

The dongle stays steady blue but no sound gets through? Check the USB A/B cable between the Hub Receiver and the Corebox, then the Producer and RoomManager versions.

Does the color order matter? Yes, both on the Audiobox and in standalone connection: blue, pink, yellow, purple, green.

The headset works on its own but not on the Audiobox, what now? Check the Hub Receiver, the USB A/B cable, and the Corebox software versions before contacting support.
